The Steadfast Love of God
As my family embarks on a new chapter in our life life, our faith and love for God has never been stronger.
Moving to Plymouth, Indiana in 1994 was an exciting year not only because of a new sister on the way, but a new chapter of life my family would be starting. Settling into my great-grandparent's house and farm we began a journey raising dairy cattle. We knew that this journey would be filled with joys and sorrows, laughter and tears, heartache and pride yet we continued to begin this journey.
As the tears of sadness fell as cows and heifers were loaded on trailers heading to their new homes, we knew that the love and passion we had for these beautiful bovine creatures did not have to end. We were going to keep our chins up, go through these next tough, mind-boggling, decision-making months with our faith and love for God at the front of our hearts and minds.
As we continue pushing through these next days, we make memories come back to life as we look through pictures of showing as kids, reminisce about those excellent and very good cows we had on the farm over the years and are thankful God blessed us sixteen years of raising and caring for His creatures to the best of our ability.
We aren't for certain what lies ahead for Lipply Holsteins, but through our faith, trust and hope in the Lord we know He has it all planned out. Whether we get back into the cattle business a few years down the road or step our feet into some other water, we thank God each day that we have family, friends and strangers who continue to pray for the unknown future that is ahead.
On a positive note, there is no better feeling than going to church each Sunday with BOTH parents, not just mom. Before we quit milking dad was unable to attend most church services due to chores and milking. Dad and mom are able to visit their children that live several miles away, spend more time with our family and enjoy life.
Change is in our life; it is HERE and is happening. No matter how tough it is to understand, we know God's plan is PERFECT. As for me and my family, we are unsure what lies ahead, but we are steadfast in the love of God.
Set your heart in His mighty and loving hands and He will NEVER fail you!
Hi Courtney, I just discovered your blog and your writing is amazing. Even though your family cattle have sold, I hope you will consider continuing with the blog. It is really a treasure!
